May 18th, 2011. To some of you, that may just be any other day. To many of us it is a day that will always be remembered. To some of us, May 18th will go down in history as the day that television changed forever. On May 18th, 2011 Elliot Stabler handled his last case. On this day, one year ago, Chris Meloni’s last episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit aired on NBC. At the close of this day, SVU changed forever and the partnership of Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson came to a close. Twelve years, two years longer than a decade, is how long we watched them solve cases, support each other, become partners, become friends, become family. For twelve years, we watched Elliot Stabler be what he was, a great cop. So thank you Chris Meloni. You’ll always be Elliot Stabler to me.
